Armenian Christmas Eve celebrated with Syrian-Armenian families

January 16, 2015

In collaboration with Hay Doun Family Support services the Armenian General Benevolent Union organized an Armenian Christmas Eve party for the newly arrived Syrian-Armenian families.

More than five hundred people challenging the cold and snowy weather attended the festive event, enjoying Armenian music, food, and sharing the dance floor in what was described as the “best Armenian Christmas party”.

Mr. Chahe Tanachian, Chair of AGBU Executive welcomed all the attendees and conveyed his new year greetings. He outlined the work that AGBU does in Canada and encouraged the newly arrived families to get involved in the life of our community.

On this occasion, the Chair of Hay Doun Mrs. Nayiri Tavlian expressed her joy and thanked the AGBU Montreal. She made a brief presentation on the work that Hay Doun does and thanked all the volunteers of Hay Doun.

The AGBU Montreal Scouts members led by their leaders did valuable volunteer work, contributing to the success of this initiative.
