October 5, 2015 saw the start of classes at TUMOxAGBU Center in Stepanakert. The first students of the first day already experienced the advantages and attraction of being a “tumotsi”.

While classes may have started at 3:30, excited students had arrived early and were waiting at the reception desk. Slowly, the center started filling up. The teens gathered at the registration table and so it began. The first day’s first group of students soon dispersed around the computers and went forth with the day’s first exercises.

14 year old Joka was writing everything down one by one with his good hand. However, having a broken hand did not ruin his mood. “Everything was more interesting than I had expected. I figured we were just going to come, play and leave. It just so happened that even on the first day, we worked on exercises from every one of TUMO’s focus areas. I’m truly impressed and will happily continue attending.”

14 year old Ani didn’t have time to get to know her neighboring peers. She was too focused on creating her first game. But her overall impression was still positive and Ani didn’t mince words. “I am going to come to TUMO with great pleasure and work hard and won’t miss any classes.”

To Joka, Ani and all the Stepanakert Tumoians, welcome.

TUMO Stepanakert opened today through its partnership with AGBU. 600 students have already signed up. Registration is still continuing and a thousand students are expected to register by the end. Classes are Monday through Friday, starting at 3:30 pm.
