It was a first for the Canadian-Armenian community. Current foreign affairs Minister of Canada the Hon. Stéphane Dion attended the 101st Anniversary Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide at the AGBU Center with over 500 people in attendance.

All federal political parties of Canada were represented at the event and each representative gave their respective parties message to the Armenian community on the occasion of the Armenian Genocide Commemoration.

Keynote Speaker of the event was the Representative of Artsakh in the USA and Canada Mr. Robert Avetisyan, who spoke about the interrelation of the Armenian Genocide and Nagorno-Karabakh, and how it is impossible for Artsakh to be under any kind of Azeri rule, as the only acceptable solution is the independence of Artsakh.

The event had begun with a cultural program, with performances by the Alex Manoogian School Choir, the AGBU Marching Band, the Scouts, the Mashtots Choir and the participation of the youth.

The event culminated with all the attendees singing patriotic Armenian songs, stating loud and clear that we are a living nation, with a blossoming youth and a victorious army that defended the borders of the fatherland a couple of weeks ago in Artsakh against the military aggression by Azerbaijan.

Գանատայի Արտաքին Գործոց Նախարարը Կը Մասնակցի Հայկական Ցեղասպանութեան Ոգեկոչման ՀԲԸՄի Կեդրոնին մէջ

Աննախընթաց քայլով մը, արտաքին գործոց նախարար Սթեֆան Տիօնը իր մասնակցութիւնը բերաւ Հայկական Ցեղասպանութեան 101-ամեակի ոգեկոչման, Մոնթրէալի ՀԲԸՄի Ալեք Մանուկեան Կեդրոնին մէջ, 500է աւելի ներկաներու խուռներամ բազմութեամբ շրջապատուած: Ներկայ էին նաեւ դաշնակցային եւ նահանգային պետական ներկայացուցիչներ, որոնք ընթերցեցին իրենց ղեկավարներուն պաշտօնական խօսքերը:

Օրուան պատգամաբերն էր, ԱՄՆի եւ Գանատայի մօտ Արցախի Հանրապետութեան ներկայացուցիչ Տիար Ռոպերթ Աւետիսեանը, որ խօսեցաւ Ղարաբաղի ներկայ կացութեան մասին, ընդգծելով թէ անընդունելի եւ անհնար է, որ Արցախը մտնէ Ազրպէյճանի լուծին տակ: Արցախի Հանրապետութեան ապագան միջազգային ճանաչման առաջնորդող ճանապարհն է:

Երեկոն սկսաւ գեղարուեստական ճոխ յայտագրով, մասնակցութեամբ Ալեք Մանուկեան վարժարանի աշակերտներուն, ՀԲԸՄի փողերախումբին, սկաուտներուն, երիտասարդացին, ինչպէս նաեւ՝ Մաշտոց երգչախումբին, գեղարուեստական ղեկավար Արթուր Մարկոսեանի առաջնորդութեամբ: Երեկոն հասաւ իր գագաթնակէտին, երբ ռազմահայրենասիրական երգերու կատարողութեամբ իրենց մասնակցութիւնը բերին 500է աւելի ներկաները, յստակ ու զօրաւոր պատգամ մը ղրկելով ամէնուր՝ թէ նոր հասակ առնող հայրենասէր պատանիներով եւ մեր զօրաւոր բանակով պիտի կարենանք պաշտպանել սահմանները մեր պապենական հողերուն եւ Արցախին, որոնք մի քանի շաբաթներ առաջ ահաւոր յարձակումներու ենթարկուեցան վայրագ ազերիներուն կողմէ:

Le ministre des affaires étrangères du Canada participe à la commémoration du génocide arménien au centre de l’UGAB

C’était une première pour la communauté canado-arménienne, alors que le ministre des affaires étrangères du Canada, l’honorable Stéphane Dion, a participé à la cérémonie de la 101e commémoration du génocide arménien, à Montréal, avec plus de 500 participants.

Tous les partis fédéraux été représentés à l’événement, et ont transmis leurs messages à la communauté arménienne ainsi que leurs hommages aux martyrs du génocide.

Le conférencier invité, M. Robert Avetisyan, représentant de la République du Haut-Karabakh pour le Canada et les États-Unis, a expliqué les liens entre le génocide arménien et la réalité du Haut-Karabakh. M. Avetisyan a affirmé qu’il était impossible pour les karabakhiotes d’être soumis à tout forme de contrôle azerbaïdjanais, et que l’indépendance de l’Artsakh demeure la seule issue possible.

L’événement à débuté avec un programme cuturel, presenté par la chorale de l’école Alex Manoogian, le mouvement scout et la fanfare de l’UGAB, ainsi que la chorale Mashtots.

La soirée s’est terminée sur des airs de chants patriotiques, avec la participation de toute la salle. La communauté à ainsi lancé un message fort, démontrant que nous sommes un peuple bien vivant avec une jeunesse en plein épanouissement et une armée victorieuse qui a su défendre, seulement quelques semaines plus tôt, les frontières de la mère-patrie face à l’agression militaire de l’Azerbaïdjan.
