In a letter addressed to the Honorable Stéphane Dion, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, the Canadian Armenian Political Affairs Committee (CAPAC) urged the Government of Canada to call upon the Republic of Azerbaijan to stop its military aggression towards Artsakh, continuously violating the ceasefire agreement.

According to reports from the NKR Defense army, Azeri troops and military equipment are bunching up along different sections of the line of contact and the situation is very tense. Azeri forces fired different caliber weapons and mortars.

“Canada must act immediately to stop the repetitive Azeri aggression on the peace-loving people of Artsakh. It is with grave concern that we monitor the situation in the South Caucausus region and appeal to you to work hand in hand with our international partners, denounce military aggression and call upon Azerbaijan to return to the table of negotiations and peacefully settle this conflict.”
