The month of May is a significant one throughout the history of the Armenian people. The witness to our Christian faith, the independence, the liberation…the spirit of all our triumphs and feasts are culminated in the Mother’s day, a modern day celebration honoring our mothers, the pillars of our families.

The Armenian General Benevolent Union celebrated the Mother’s day with two consecutive musicals, and it attracted around 450 mothers and community members. The guest speakers of both celebrations talked about the importance of motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. They also highlighted the role of mothers in raising their children, guarding their families and preserving the Armenian heritage in Diaspora.

There was a moment of gratitude, to all the mothers of our hero soldiers, who are guarding our borders in the Republic of Artsakh. The students of AGBU Alex Manoogian School and the youth of our community center participated in the musicals by singing, playing piano and reciting poems dedicated to mothers.
