On Friday, September 18, 2015 at 9:30am the national flag of Armenia was raised in the Saint- Laurent Borough of Montreal. The ceremony was led by the borough Mayor Alan DeSousa and the Chairman of AGBU Chahe Tanachian.
The event was held, on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia (September 21, 1991), with the participation of Montreal City Councillors, representatives of the Armenian community and the students of the AGBU Alex Manoogian school.
Following the ceremony Mayor DeSousa hosted a reception at the City Hall.
